Our “Skelly Farm” family represents four generations.
- The first generation provides us with a strong foundation, the people who make this condo possible. This generation of our family represents two Korean War veterans, two faithful and loving wives, one of which has gone to be with the Lord. We are blessed by a retired Skelly service station owner who put in so much hard work. There is one who cares for a spouse with Alzhimers. Although mostly homebound, they are certainly a foundation that holds a beautiful model of love and service.
- The second generation, “sandwich” generation, or “the glue”- whatever you want to call it- represents the people who work hard to care for us all. They host weekly Sunday meals at their house after church, plant a garden and generously share the literal fruit of their labor with many. There is much service in the music ministry at school and church. In the midst of everything, they keep a 360 acre farm of crops and cattle running. Just when there doesn’t seem more to give, they give more.
- The third generation represents one of the most brilliant masterminds, the “fix it” guy, the one who can literally solve any problem or fix anything as if he has been professionally trained. A beautiful school administrator, God bless her. The one who has a knack for all things media, advertising, loving others behind the scenes and not ever wanting credit for all the incredible things she accomplishes. A coach/special education teacher, fueled with a little coffee and a whole lot of Jesus - the guy who hosts FCA at school, loves to give a good baccalaureate address for graduation, who would talk about Jesus with you for hours. And then there’s me, author of this write-up, a fourth grade teacher at a public school, ten years into my career and still loving it.
- Last and littlest, certainly the cutest, is the life of the party…the fourth generation. They give us all a little more life. A seven year old, a five year old, a four year old, and a two year old who make up the “cousin crew”. Three boys and one obvious princess. We are blessed by them!
With sincerity in our hearts, we are so glad you’re here!
